One GRITTY team
GW Murphy is a family of businesses led by one gritty team. Here’s what we stand for at every location.
Make an IMPACT
GW Murphy exists to make an IMPACT. Our purpose is not a slogan. It is the standard we hold ourselves to across every branch, every business and every relationship we build.
GRITTY
Each letter stands for a trait of the people we hire and the company we strive to be.

Do what is right for our people, our customers, our communities, and the environment.
People First
Remember that no matter what business we are in, we are ultimately in the people business.
Advancement
Develop, mentor, empower, and guide people toward who they are capable of becoming.
Create and Cultivate Opportunities
For employees, customers, vendors, families, and communities to grow.
Think Generously
Give freely of our time, resources, knowledge, and opportunities to help others succeed.
What GRITTY means
Golden Rule
We “do unto others as you would have others do unto you” because it is the right thing to do.
Respect
We respect our customers, employees and vendors and treat them with the honor they deserve.
Integrity
We display integrity and strong principles in every position and with every transaction.
Teamwork
We are at our best when we selflessly work together to accomplish a common goal.
Trustworthy
We act reliably in everything we say and do and trust each other along the way.
Yes-Minded
We look to say “yes,” searching for what is possible and committed to finding solutions for our customers.
Our purpose in action
Helping the youth
We have funded construction of two children’s homes in India and the repair of an orphanage in Moldova.
Furthering education
We have funded education and care for orphan and foster children in India, Nepal, Moldova and the United States, and contributed to construction of Christian colleges in India and Nigeria.
Food & water
We have helped fund more than 30 community wells around the world, food distribution in Mexico, India and Peru, and a commercial rice cooker for students in India.
Spreading the word
We have funded travel for volunteers and missionaries in Nigeria, India, Mexico, Australia, Peru, Israel and Brazil, and new construction and roof replacements for churches in India, Nepal, Nigeria and our local communities.
Our local community
We support local organizations where we do business, including rehabilitation programs in Louisiana and Indiana.
